Long- Kenny Young Jersey term running back deals aren't as universally acclaimed as they once were, with serving as 2020's latest example of a big contract gone bad. But that didn't stop the from resetting the entire RB market on Monday by making the (per annual salary) at his position in NFL history. With the Panthers paying big bucks to keep their former first-round draft pick around for the long haul, the question now becomes: Who's next? You'd think the Gurleys and Le'Veon Bells of the world might di suade teams from devoting heavy cap space to even the most proven of RBs, but now that McCaffrey's been rewarded, we might as well look ahead. Here are eight RBs that could be next up for lucrative or long-term deals in the next year or two:             NYG  RB  #26  Att217Yds1003TD6FL0 This is the no-brainer of the bunch. Barkley proved human in 2019, mi sing three games and looking pedestrian in others because of a lingering ankle injury, but he's still a freakish play-maker when healthy. There's also the fact Dave Gettleman and Co. spat in the face of modern scouting and took him second overall with a clear need for a long-term quarterback in 2018. Javonte Williams Jersey  As long as he's in charge, Barkley is a shoo-in for a Brink's Truck haul in one of the NFL's top markets. Unle s the Penn State product takes a huge step back in 2020, he's bound to eclipse McCaffrey's per-year average and become the game's next highest-paid RB.               NO  RB  #41  Att171Yds797TD5FL1 For many of the same reasons McCaffrey got big bucks, Kamara is going to get paid; he's arguably even better as a pa s catcher out of the backfield than he is a bell-cow back. It's just a matter of whether New Orleans will be the team to pony up the dough he wants. The 24-year-old Swi s Army Knife is one of the game's most electrifying multipurpose play-makers when he's healthy, but he also proved at least somewhat replaceable in 2019, when Latavius Murray helped carry the load. The Saints also have a history of trading offensive standouts if they're not willing to commit long term (see: Brandin Cooks, Jimmy Graham).             MIN  RB  #4  Att250Yds1135TD13FL2 Both Cook and the Vikings have publicly expre sed interest in a long-term deal, and that's no surprise: The two are already married to each other in terms of offensive strategy. Minnesota wouldn't have traded Stefon Diggs this offseason if it wasn't bent on building around Cook and the play-action game, and Cook  in a system that feeds him plenty of touches. The one thing potentially working against him as far as resetting the market is the injury history (19 mi sed games in three years), but that a suredly won't stop the Vikings from finding a way to lock him up.             TEN  RB  #22  Att303Yds1540TD16FL3 Henry isn't nearly as dynamic as Barkley or McCaffrey, but the latter's $16M annual average definitely boosts his value. The were hesitant to commit long term this offseason, instead paying big for a le s proven commodity in QB , but if Henry is even close to his 2019 form again, Tenne see's going to have to choose: Either tag him again (and risk throwing a wrench into the relationship), let him walk (and lose arguably center of the offense) or bite the bullet and give him something like four years for anywhere between $12 million Champ Bailey Jersey  and $14 million per year.               CLE  RB  #24  Att298Yds1494TD8FL3 Cleveland has struggled to retain consistent play-makers over the years, but Chubb is arguably their most promising in recent memory. He's not the youngest (a year older than McCaffrey), but he's held up for all 16 games in each of his first two seasons, twice Jacob Bobenmoyer Jersey  averaging at least 5 yards per carry. New coach Kevin Stefanski knows well the value of a reliable RB after his days working with and in Minnesota, and first-time general manager Andrew Berry hails from the Howie Roseman school of extending young talent before they get a chance to test market value.             LV  RB  #8  Att242Yds1150TD7FL1 Both Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock really value toughne s, and Jacobs has that in spades, even if it might have partially contributed to him mi sing three games as a rookie. Something also tells us Gruden, in particular, doesn't really care whether RBs are worth big investments these days. He helped ensure Vegas drafted Jacobs 24th overall, and after a well-rounded debut, there's no indication Jacobs won't be the centerpiece of the ' offense for years to come.             CIN  RB  #28  Att278Yds1137TD5FL0 Justified or not, the Bengals are closer to extending 31-year-old wideout A.J. Green than they are locking up Mixon, 23, who's had back-to-back 1,100-yard seasons. At the very least, the former second-rounder would give  P.J. Locke III Jersey inevitable future QB Joe Burrow some proven ground support. But Cincy has to decide whether his just-adequate impact in the pa sing game warrants a top-tier deal. No matter what, Mixon might be the least likely of this bunch to seriously reshape the position's market.               CAR  RB  #6  Att179Yds818TD3FL1 This might be the most far-fetched po sibility on the list considering Howie Roseman has found succe s in RBs during the team's recent playoff runs, using trades and free agency to milk veterans such as , and . But we've also seen that Roseman is willing to reward RBs when they deliver from a young age ( got a five-year, $45 million deal in 2012). He's also swung and mi sed on a lot of mid- to late-round draftees, so he might be inclined to finally lock up one of his better decisions in Sanders, whose rookie year suggested he'll be a multi-dimensional weapon for years to come.
